STYLING
If you’re opting for an all-black outfit, play with textures like faux-leather skirts or faux-fur jackets.
Boots add a cool-girl attitude to any high-impact outfit. Go for classic black faux-suede or make an impact in white knee-highs or lace-ups.
Lurex fabrics, puff sleeves, and body-con dresses are statement-making looks that cut a powerfully feminine figure.
RED LIPS
A swipe of red lipstick is a major party must-have.
Here are some tips to nailing a killer red lip.
- Exfoliate. DIY a lip scrub using sugar and coconut oil for a perfectly primed pout.
- Lip Liner. Trace your lips with a red pencil.
- Lightly fill the center of your lips with the same pencil – this creates a base for your lipstick.
- Apply your lipstick over the top. Take your time with long strokes for an even application.
- Show off your red lip by takinga selfie with your BFFs!
THE TABLE
5 TIPS ON SETTING YOUR PARTY TABLE
Keep the decor fun and festive with a pretty table setting using these tips.
- Light up the night - literally. Candles are the perfect centrepiece to set the mood for the night ahead. For a modern twist, mix-and-match different candleholder shapes like tall spirals or blocks.
- Flower power. Add some flowers to your table with simple bouquets of beautiful fresh and dried blooms in vintage vases. Just be sure to cut the stems down so your guest can still see each other from across the room.
- Get personal. Personalizing your table settings is an extra special touch your guests will love. Write their names on handmade cards or snap a polaroid photo of each guest for an instant memory they can take home.
- Serve it up. Mix up your tableware with vintage and new plates, glasses and cutlery. Also, be sure to serve your dinner in a social dining style for an informal approach that will keep the conversation flowing.
- A soft touch. We’ll pick fabric napkins over paper any day of the week. Not only are they a more sustainable option, but they’re an easy way to add a pop of colour or bold motif to your table decor.
